So, I have worked my way through several versions of GB-PVR, on several versions of windows, and I think that I am getting to be pretty proficient at setting it up.

That said, my last setup (Hauppauge 2250 on a Windows 7 Machine) seems to be giving me some problems.

I can record 2 digital shows at once, I can record 2 analog shows at once, and sometimes I can record one analog and one digital.

But twice now, for some reason I cant explain, digital tuner 1 and analog tuner 1 decide to record shows at the same time (while digital 2, and analog 2 do nothing). From this point on they continue to do so whenever there is both an analog and a digital show being recorded.

In each case the digital show gets recorded, and the analog program does not.

I have checked and re-checked the configuration. The digital tuners are set as Hauppauge 2250 (QAM) devices 1 and 2, and the analog tuners are set to use Hauppauge 2250 devices 1 and 2.

I am using the newest version of GB-PVR, and I am running the newest drivers for my video capture card.

Everything else seems to be working perfectly.

Do you guys have any idea what the problem may be?

I wasn't sure which files you would ask for, so I grabbed all of my logs and my ini files, as well as config.xml)

Thanks.

Looks like you have an analog channel enabled in the digital recording source without a proper tuning string.

Whurlston,

Thank you for taking a look and making a reply. From what I can see, I have several "mapped" channels that are not enabled, but I can't seem to find an instance of an enabled channel that is not mapped.

Is this on Digital Tuner #1?

Same thing happened again, exactly a week later. The recording service log shows that a digital recording started on tuner 1, then hour later an analog recording started on tuner 2, an hour after that another analog program attempts to start, selects tuner 1, but does not record (creates a blank file). It "hangs" the first tuner in the recording service and shows this program as being recorded until I restart the recording service.

I am not sure if it is the analog program that causes it (would have been the program "ultimate fighter" at 2200 hours on the 23rd) or the digital one right before. Since the analog one is the one that does not record, I killed the recurring entry for it, and I guess I will see if it screws up again next week.

Post the logs if you still have them.

Looks like it did it twice more, both times late at night (monday night and tuesday night). Each time tuner one hung up and the scheduled show (daily show with jon stewart) did not record, while the tuner #2 show did record.

So, this past weekend I decided to see if I could fix the problem by doing a partial re-install.

I removed all the referenced tuners, and all codecs from the system. I deleted all of the channels (except for some reason a couple that remained in the list despite there being no tuner that references them).

And for an extra measure, I went into my schedules direct profile and removed all of the overlapping analog and digital channels so that only the digital ones would remain (this was primarily the networks).

I then reinstalled the tuners, first analog, then digital. I re-scanned (and I had to do a custom scan as it would not pick up every channel every time, so I just cut it down to the specific channels that I know carry the content I want) and mapped all of the channels, then re-installed the codecs I wanted to use.

Everything looks great. I can manually scan through every channel, and I can manually record any combination of 1 or 2 analog or digital.

But even so, I am still experiencing hangups on tuner one. At some point, a digital channel will "hang" in record mode on that tuner, and everything else that was scheduled to record using that tuner will fail to do so.

I happened to be watching the show just now (biggest loser) while it was recording, and while it was supposed to record until the end of the hour, the show actually cut off at the half (when tuner 2 started to record a different show).

That is when it hung. And even though it claimed to be recording the show with tuner one (biggest loser) and tuner two, I could tune to live tv and flip through the channels.

I go on 1 to 2 week trips about once a month, and it is killing me that my system will crash out on day 1 or 2 of my trip and I will have 2 weeks worth of shows that I need to track down (I know, maybe I should have a life outside of tv Wink.

If I could just get this one issue sorted out I would have a solid machine, I could make a backup image of the drive, and just not mess with it again for a few YEARS....

When it first started to record biggest loser, it was not actually recording anything, so used the config program to stop and then re-start the recording service. This got the program to begin to record (although it did not end gracefully as noted earlier).

Here is the recording service log for when it initially tried to record the show:

It shows that there was an error, but doesn't really help me to figure out what might have caused it. I did notice a line that said it was queuing for post processing, and when I checked the setup comskip was selected as a post processing option, but not selected to run concurrently. I set this to none, as I do not have comskip installed.

Please let me know if you guys have any thoughts.
