Hi there
I am new to this software, so I'm not to sure if this has been covered already?
I am in Australia. I have both the Xcard & FusionHDTV DVB-T card from Dvico installed on my PC. I was pointed towards GB-PVR by another contact who has a similar setup, & who spoke highly of what the software does.
I'm looking to use both of my cards in much the same way as a set top box, as I have a DVD Recorder, & would prefer to use that, instead of the various pieces of equipment already in my PC.
I managed to get the right info from the person I spoke of earlier, as to setting up the bda.ini file to recognize the Dvico card, as well as the XMLTV settings for my region in Australia, however I've struck 2 problems.
First up, everything works fine in all the configuration settings, & I see all my local channels after running the setup (when you see the small window, with each channel displayed).
Yet, when I actually run the software & select TV Guide, although I can see all of the info on my TV (programme listings, etc.), when I tried to do anything to actually view a programme, I get this message:- I get the 'Failed to communicate with the GB-PVR Recording Service' message.
I read the various instructions in the FAQ on how to fix it, so I tried removing everything, then reinstalling, but it was still there. I also went as far as reinstalling .Net, prior to reinstalling the GB-PVR software. Bare in mind that, up to now, I still get as far as seeing my Programme listings, & so on.
I then reboot my PC, to see if that will help. I run Configuration again, & everything is fine. Now, when I actually run the software, it still can be seen on my TV, via the XCard, however, I no longer get any actual programme listings?
I haven't physically removed any software during this time, so it seems unlikely to be a problem with XMLTV (also, I still see the channels during configuration).
I'd really love to use this software, but I have no idea if I can get it working?
Any possible solutions?
