GBPVR Version: 0.94.13

OS: Win XP Pro SP2

Mainboard: Epox 8rgm21 (nvidia nforce2) / AMD +2300 or something... / 1 GB memory

Capture: Hauppauge Nova DVB-T (90002)

Output: Xcard

Problem: When I try to use LIVE TV with my "live preview mode" -on, my system totally crashes (harddisk buffer mode does not work either, no picture, no sound)

Question: Should this hardware construction work in principle? Should livepreview work? And how to get it to work.

( Actually after my last crash, GBPVR wont start at all. .NET -system tells there is a broblem, ill fix this somehow... )

I just love this software, even though I have had nothing but broblems with it, but most have been only my stupidity, and learned a lot Smile

DVD Discs dont want to play also, just blank screen, and GBPVR freezes. but for NOW I want to get LIVE TV to work.

By the way, is it possible somehow to record on-the-fly to DIVX-Format?

Thank You in advance for help =)

I dont think live preview mode works on the XCard. You'll probably need to disable live preview mode. I no longer actively support or develop features for the XCard.

Yes, if you have a hardware DIVX encoder like the Plextor PX-TV402U. If you have Hauppauge card that only recordings MPEG2, you can set up GB-PVR to autoconvert the file to xvid after the recording has completed.

v0.92.08 versionhistory says:
"- Live Preview mode now works on the XCard, but you must have the deinterlace setting set to 'encoder pass-through'."
-is this true, and my hauppauge capture-card does not support this feature, and therefore crashes?

Sad to hear, Xcard is not under active developement/support anymore Sad

My pc is the heart of my Hometheatre system, and this GBPVR software would be the best program to my purpose, and I really, REALLY, really would like get it to work.

I have spent now 2 weeks every evening (after workday) to try to get this to work ok...

Hard disk buffering seems to be what i have to try, but MuxChecker says:"NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE." Even though there should be "DVR-MS mux filter."?
Result = No picture, no sound.

Im just too perfectionist, and everything has to work properly for me =)

Thanks for fast reply, going to sleep now. Tomorrow again trying to solve these problems...

I did have a go at it, and it seems to work for some people (sometimes), but not for others. I recommend you dont try to use this feature.

To be honest, I wouldnt use the XCard. It produces a great picture, but there are so many quirky things with this card that I dont believe it is worth wasting the time on.

Yes, I noticed that the other day. The next release will take into account the DVR-MS mux when it shows this message.

I think you'll need to install the Cyberlink mux if you want to use timeshift mode tv on your XCard. This uses standard MPEG-2 files which the XCard is better able to cope with.

I know this must be a stupid question, but could my Live preview crashing have something to do with Microsoft DVR-MS? I noticed that when I try to watch something (with GBPVR ONLY) that I have recorded with DVR-MS -Format, my computer crashes (Total shutdown + reboot)

I dont really know how it works with "live preview" -mode? does it have something to do with DVR-MS? Or Other Mux filters?

I have tried my TV card + Xcard combination with three different computers, always resulting to total crash in live preview.

Have had some success using timeshift -mode with intervideo MUX filter, no others seem to work.

Intervideo MUX: timing issues with sound + Video (takes about 30 seconds to get both going at the same time), Recorded shows have no sound with GBPVR, video freezes, or some other problem. (Mediaplayer Classic shows these recording fine, but only in computer screen, ofcourse.)

Showshifter MUX:Exellent Recordings, Timeshift mode doesnt work, GBPVR freezes (not whole computer, luckily)

Cyberlin MUX: Cant even get it installed, not even manually.

For now I am only using GBPVR for recording shows (with SS MUX), and other program to watch it later. No live TV for me Sad

Are there any settings (in some *.ini -file or somewhere) that I can change and test this Xcard "Live preview" -issue, and get it to work?

Sorry for my long post and very bad english.

Live preview mode just wont work with you xcard. You'll need to disable it.

Why what happens? Can you post the output of muxchecker?

I just does not show in muxchecker, and does not work either.

I Installed "Cyberlink Power DVD" but no luck. Tried manual install also, Windows replyes, that it is succesfull, but does not work. Remove, reinstall, doesnt seem to help.

Intervideo MUX I installed manually, and it almost works, as I said. =)

Tried to install manually showshifter mux, but no luck (I think it was radlight filter manager that said, some .dll is missing)

Would like to have Cyberlink mux installed though, newermind the others.

Smile

"GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: InterVideo Multiplexer
FILE: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ivimux.ax
VERSION: 3.0.86.0

Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Program Files\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945

If you're running WinXP SP1 or higher, you will also be able to use the built-in DVR-MS mux filter

The Cyberlink mux is not included with PowerDVD.

You can download it from the following link: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=5...stcount=41
