I've done a clean reinstall of GBPVR, and eliminated the text file that MC2XML uses to eliminate certain channels. My problems started about the time I starting trying to eliminate duplicate channels with the text file.

I've also downloaded the latest version of MC2XML.

I should know if any of this solves the problems in a day or two.

The problem is still there. It might be related to the computer going to sleep. Last night, shows that recorded correctly started recording while the computer was awake. The shows that didn't record were the ones the computer had to wake up to record.

The folders for the shows were created, but the folders were empty.

That is even more like the problems I get with the nova-t-500.
I hibernate the machine and after a week or so the device (or it's driver) fails to respond and I need to do a full reboot.
Although the nova-t-500 I use is a PCI card it is really a USB device with on-board USB controllers - is your device also a pseudo USB tuner?
Using Devcon it shows this when OK

Quote:USB\VID_2040&PID_9951\4027355045
Name: USB Composite Device
Device is currently stopped.
USB\VID_2040&PID_9951&MI_00\6&1A7D4F77&0&0000
Name: Hauppauge Nova-DT Dual DVB-T Tuner Device (+IR)
Device is currently stopped.
USB\VID_2040&PID_9951&MI_01\6&1A7D4F77&0&0001
Name: Hauppauge Nova-DT IR
Driver is running.
3 matching device(s) found.

and when failing this

Quote:USB\VID_2040&PID_9951\4027355045
Name: USB Composite Device
Device has a problem: 10.
1 matching device(s) found.

Still battling this problem. I'm reasonably sure that the problem has to do with the card not coming up on line after sleep mode. If the card does fail to come up, it never comes up. I have to bring the computer out of sleep before time for a recording to start. Done that way, it works.

I removed the card and cleaned the contacts - no change.

I'm trying it in hibernation mode during the day today. I prefer S3 sleep, though.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Yup, even more like my problem (once dead, stays dead until reboot).

Unfortunately Devcon does not return an error code to say if it has detected a failure or not. It has options to reload the driver, with or without rebooting as necessary.

Sadly my batch file skills still belong in the DOS age, I suspect it would be easy to parse the output of Devcon to look for "problem" and then reboot if it found it.

All the above can be done from a tool called 'hibernate trigger' that can call a script to do the above.

devcon http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311272

http://www.desimonesystems.com/suspendtrigger/index.php
Quote:Hibernate Trigger is a small program that will detect whenever the system is put into suspend or hibernation mode. When the system starts going into suspend, Hibernate Trigger will halt the Suspend operation and execute a command of your choice. Also, when the system resumes, hibernate will execute a command of your choice.
