HVR1600 Versus HVR1800

The Hauppauge HVR1600 appears to be the PCI version of the HVR1800. The HVR1800 is PCI Express.

Would this make any difference whatsoever - PCI versus PCIe?

both types seem to offer identical performance...never had a problem with either..

If you just hooking directly to your CATV feed, I would get a 2250. You avoid the external splitter with a 2250 and the 2250 has a better tuner from most accounts that I have read. It costs little more, but I think it is worth it.

I have the 1600 and 2250, and do not observe any performance difference. I agree with steveum, if you are going to fill a pcie slot, go for the 2250 not the 1800... its cheaper if you figure $/tuner ratio if you need to argue the point with anyone.
