All my recordings have narrow black bars on each side. I'm not talking about the bars you get when you watch a 4:3 recording in a 16:9 window.

Some media players let you zoom in in tiny steps, and that gets rid of it, but most video players won't do this.

Is there a way to have GBPVR record a little zoomed in, or is there another fix for it. It's not a big deal, but if it is easy to fix, I'd like to do it.

Just an idea, but if you are using ffdshow as your video codec then go into the settings of ffdshow (via the GB-PVR config) and you should find a wide range of settings - one of which should allow you to resize.

GB-PVR cant crop anything out of the picture at record time. Regardless of whether you're using a digital or analog encoder card, by the time it the stream of data arrives at GB-PVR it is already encoded and already contains whatever makes up the picture, including black bars.

Thanks sub. I've been using KM Player to play back recordings because its keyboard commands are simpler. Both it, and Windows Media Center player show the black bars.

GBPVR plays back the recordings perfectly, but many of the keyboard shortcuts require key combinations, and aren't quite as intuitive. I'm going to start using it to watch recordings anyway, because it makes managing recordings easier.

Thanks for the most excellent program...
