I'm trying to learn the codes for a Comcast DTA DCI1011COM.

When I click New, the pop-up displays for a fraction of a second, then the next box says [Learning failed].

Is there a timeout setting some where?

Thanks

I'm not sure about which ones, but I know some DTA boxes use the non-standard XMP IR protocol, which isnt able to be learned by learning remotes etc, and probably the USB-UIRT aswell. If you google "usb-uirt xmp" you might find some clues or work arounds.

Sub, thanks for the quick answer.
I have the file. The USBUIRT was locked up again.
I rebooted and was able to learn the remote.
I'll attach the file after I get to test it.

I wish someone could figure out what the uirt locks up.
It used it with w2k, xp-mce and now win7. I never know if a show will record on the correct channel.

Its literally been years since I've even seen my USBUIRT, so a very long time since I tested with it.

If you've having a problem with it in GB-PVR, and not other apps, then you could probably take GB-PVR out of the equation with some external executable controlling the USBUIRT (I'm sure I've seen a command line blaster executable floating around), and set your capture source to use the ".exe channel changer" pointing at that executable.

I haven't tried the usbuirt with any other apt, as gbpvr is the best!

I assume this will become a bigger problem for many people in the states as Comcast and others switch off all but 20 or so analog channels. I have until sometime in May to find a stable solution.
Or I guess I can spend $200-$400 on new equipment that supports cable cards.
Not something I want to do.
