I am having a really strange problem trying to record to a network share which is located on a NAS. I have attached my log files hoping they may help. Here is what I found out:

1) Changed the Recordings and Live TV directories in config.exe, stopped the recording service and tray applet, then deleted all logs files so I could start with a clean slate.

2) Restarted the recording service and tray applet and scheduled two recordings to start immediately. This was at 1:46 PM. When I do this, nothing happens on the server, there is no attempt to start the recordings.

3) At 1:48 PM I restarted the recording service and then both shows began to record normally. I did get 2 popup errors on the screen which I have also attached. Basically is was a message box that said "The server method "GetServerTime" failed with the following error (but there was no additional info.

4) I stop the recording service at 1:50 PM and zipped up the logs.

I do not have these problems if I change the Recording and Live TV directories back to a local drive. Anyone have any ideas? And please, no snide remarks about the recorded shows, it's only a test Smile

sounds like it's the filesystem timestamp facilities on the NAS...
look thru the seettings on nas for it's timezone and filesystem date stuff...good nas's have settings to make sure that ntfs file times are in sync with the server so that file times won't get out of whack..[say, create a new file on nas from pc, nas sets files time/date,so it has to be correct or pc will get confused..]

oh and generally recording straight to nas isn't recommended..it's slow to startup, can disappear at times, and all sorts of other issues like this...
better off recording locally, then auto-copying to nas after and adjusting db..
try my little SuperSimple Archiver to help do the copies..
[link in my sig. below]
can be setup in postprocessing.bat to copy immediately after record..
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie

Thanks for the suggestions. I had seen a couple references to your utility and was planning to try it out if I could not get it to record directly to the NAS. I did check the times, they were close, but not exact. I set the time to match the server and got the exact same results as above, except this time there was no error message. I still have to restart the recording service to get it to start. Very strange! Once again, thanks for your help.

Do you use EWA (web scheduler)? The port number listed is the port used for EWA. I don't have a NAS but I get that message when I use Opera browser and logout of EWA.

If you don't use EWA try you NAS setup and uncheck "Enabled GB-PVR web server on port" on the MISC 2 tab in the Config app.

I was using EWA to schedule the jobs. So that at least explains the error messages, and apparently, they are not related to the recording problem.
