scheduled recording and live TV

I would to know if there is something I can change to make it so when I am watching live tv and a scheduled recording starts, it automatically plays that instead of dropping to the main menu. Is this possible?

Sorry, no there isnt - short of adding an additional tuner.

Thank you for your reply, much appreciated. Curious, what would an additional tuner do? I am guessing it would switch over to the other tuner to watch TV? I am just wanting it to switch to what I am recording because a lot of the time I will just watch it under Pending Recordings if I have nothing already recorded that I want to watch. Would you consider adding this kind of functionality? It might make it more user-friendly for non-educated end users, since there is no message to indicate why it dropped to the menu in the middle of what they were watching. Thank you again!

If you had two tuners, and were using one while watching tv, then when the recording would use the second tuner, leaving your live tv session to continue.

Ahh I see, well I am budgeting for a dual tuner card, someday! I added in my post that this might be a decent feature for our uneducated users who come to visit, thoughts?

All I can give you is a maybe at this stage. I'm already too busy with the next release, so trying hard not to add things to my list right now.

It has definitely been considered in the past, but there are a couple of technical reasons why its difficult to implement.
