Aspect ratio of analog recordings

This is not a big problem but it odd. When I watch live TV or record analog shows on PVRX2 and play them back on my HDTV, they have the small pillars on the sides as expected. Now, with NPVR the pillers are much wider and the picture is closer to a square. Not fully a square, but not normal like the show would be viewing with the tuner or from PVRX2. If I play the recorded show from PVRX2 back on NPVR, the show looks normal. I am using the exact same decoders in both programs and have switched decoders in both and get the same result. I also have tried playing with the aspect functions of some of the decoders with poor results. I have also played with the aspect ratio features of NPVR with no luck. The only thing I can think of is that the sofware decoder has something to do with this since it is an analog device?

Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, I have but only on some analog recordings. I don't do much analog at all but have for testing NPVR. I've not tried anything but F7 but since I don't watch much analog, I haven't bothered going further with it.

You should end up with pretty much the same aspect ratio as you saw in PVRX2.

When playback or a recording or live tv started, did the black info bar at the bottom of the screen fully extend to the sides of the screen?

Did pressing F7 a few times help?

Pressing F7 corrects it. Somehow I did not know about F7. Now, is there a way to preset one of the F7 settings so it will always be that size? or is there a remote key that is the same as F7?

By the way, you were right, this new version grows on you You did an amazing job for a clean sheet rewrite!
