Recurring recordings vanish

I have had this problem since I started using GB-PVR over a year ago. I posted something once, but didn't follow up until now, because I was hoping to detect a pattern to it, but I have failed to do so.

When I set a recurring recording, the show records a majority of the time. Sometimes, however, it simply vanishes from the pending list; either a single occurrence of the program will appear in the list as though they are not set to record, or all the occurrences of that program will do so. Sometimes, after the next guide update, they reappear as normal. For a long time, I blamed the dodgy Australian networks for changing the name of the program by adding a space to the end (they often make more obvious changes--a wildcard would be nice), but then I noticed that even the web-based programs in the Schedules Direct listings have this problem.

I have hit a wall with this. Any ideas to get me thinking again would be most welcome.

Solved, with a new problem: I was emptying the EPG before doing guide updates, which had the effect of removing recordings one day and restoring them the next. Unfortunately, I started this practice to deal with another problem of the guide update registering multiple, conflicting entries, as described in the new thread below. Any ideas would be welcome there.
