Recording service locking up

Just a thought as I have also had some strange lockups of the recording process. Do you use either the NMT integration, i.e looking at N-PVR through a Popcorn Hour media extender, or using the client mode on another PC? I have suspicions that one of those client connections can cause this behaviour. Not confirmed yet though.

My observations on my own logs and logs of others on recording problem do not indicate any link to the PCH, so I don't understand why you are drawing this conclusion. If you are stopping the NPVR Recording Service for any reason you may have to manually kill instances of NextPVR. NextPVR can also run it own internal recording process (which I wish I could disable) if the Recording Service is not running and you have to be methodical in starting and stopping the various components.

Well, the two times I have had lockups with N-PVR has been after some usage and testing of the PCH, hence the conclusion. It does in no way imply that my suspiscions are correct though.
I am currently doing some tests to try to reproduce the problems and will let you know if I find anything.

One of those lockups mentioned may have been when I had incorrect dimensions in the config.xml for the PCH. Not sure though.

I have used both the client mode and PCH, although not with my NPVR setup.

Off topic, I just got a PCH C200 that I hope Martin will get working some day.

I have done some testing now with the same scenarios that I had when I had my lockups and failed recordings. And no matter how I try I cannot force N-PVR or PCH to misbehave. No lockups or failed recordings of any sort.
So, it proves my suspicions were in fact wrong. However, there was a failed recording at one point (my wife can confirm that , but what caused it is unkown.

I apologize to Martin and Sub for talking perhaps a bit to verbose about the situation before actually doing some proper tests. I did find some other problems though, but I'll list those in my "little list of bugs" thread.
