Using ffdshow decoder causes that in my system.

The only mpeg2 decoder that doesn't produce a black screen for me is ffdshow (which I am using). I found a post on this site where someone had compiled several codecs specifically for GB-PVR/NPVR, called saf400. I uninstalled my codecs, and installed this ensemble, and it greatly improved my playback. I can skip forward and back, and it only locks up occasionally, with sound playing, but picture locked. I then have to exit to the menu, and go back in. I noticed it often happens when NPVR jumpes over a comskipped area... for some reason the video halts.

Getting better, day by day. At least I can tape some shows now. Still can't get my second capture device running though.

You should use SAF5 *unlocked*, SAF4 is too outdated now.

Hih, Other than AF9015 can do this error also.
Its a fairly generic error message. It's just saying that some native code (ie drivers or directshow filters) is trying to write to memory that doesnt belong to the process.
