I have had to replace my 5 yr old PC (Windows XP) and have upgraded to a new homebuilt machine running Windows 7.
I had used my Presto PVR dongle successfully on the previous machine and want to reinstall it on the new one.
I checked and Microsoft say Presto PVR is compatible with Windows 7 so I followed the instructions and loaded the driver and Presto TV software from my CD including the serial no. of the device. This seemed to work ok.
The instructions then say connect the USB dongle and it trigger a bit of software that configures the driver you installed earlier. However what happened was that Win7 detected new software; a message came up saying device installed correctly; then after a pause there was another message "your device could not be installed". On closer examination I found in Device Manager that the device had been detected ("USB TV") but that it was lacking a driver - i.e. Win 7 had for some reason not found the Presto driver installed from the CD.
I have searched the web to try to find a solution but cannot find anything to explain this and would be really grateful if anyone has any ideas. I have visited the Nusoft site and tried to apply various "patch" files listed there but every time it says that it cannot find the previous driver to repair.
The hardware seems to be a T601501 and the product version is 5.20.12.
Thanks a lot.
