Computer Locks up/freezes when starting

I upgraded the power supply from 400 watt to 600 watt. Started the computer and it locked up. Restarted in safe mode shut everything off in startup and started just fine. Added one thing at a time and locked up when I enabled NVcpldaemon. So I upgraded the graphics driver to a beta driver and so far so good.

yeah, I've run into problems with various bits of the nvidia control panel before. glad you found the issue.
