Ok, Got a weird one for everyone. My moms DVR is acting up. It seems that the recording service is not starting. I have tried everything. Virus scan, Malware scan, Defrag, CCleaner scan. Rebooted the computer a few times.
I get the following popups. I get the N with white dots in the 4 corners in the tray icon.
I really do not want to have to uninstall and reinstall.
Please help.
Thank you,
Bruce

The nrecord.log begins with ...

and ends with ...

Quote:2019-01-11 17:51:38.819 [DEBUG][17] Renew lease ok (0x1C000A)

indicating that the NextPVR Recording Service was active between these times. Viewing Live TV requires the NextPVR Recording Service. Are you able to view Live TV? What happens if you ask NextPVR to do a Quick Record of a show that is currently broadcasting?

The software program that displays the "N" in the Windows Taskbar is separate from the NextPVR Recording Service. It might be that NextPVR status app has a problem and not the Recording Service.

I can't even launch NextPVR. When I click to launch it just hangs and then gives me the error.

Run "nrecord.exe RUN" from the command line, and see if you get any error on the screen when it happens.
I vaguely recall having a similar problem a few years ago that I recall was related to some antiviris/malware protection software that was blocking the recording service from running correctly.

Tried all ways I could think of. Antivirus and malware software disabled.

Thank you for your time.

Good day Bruce...The nerecord.exe is located in the NPVR subdirectory which should be in either theProgram Files or Program Files(x86) folders. The above does not indicate you were executing the command from the correct folder. Cheers

You would have needed to do this first:
cd "\program files (x86)\npvr"

Have you tried rebooting though?
