I've been meaning to report this for age. When the HVR-4000 is recording and you try and use the tuner for something else, the recording breaks (stops at the moment you try to access the tuner). You correctly get told that there device is busy but the recording stops. This is in npvr 2.0.3. I dont think it used to happen in GBPVR but it's been so long since I ran that and I also had a second working card at that point, that I cant prove it but have the hunch it used not to break. Anyone else with one of these cards see this issue? It's easy for me to reproduce, with just this card, get it to record something and try and watch TV while it's recording. Happens if you record on the DVB-S and try to access a DVB-T or a DVB-S channel. Not tried recording DVB-T then trying to watch something else...

BigMoose,

Do you have any logs on this? I have the HVR-4400 and I use to have problems recording on both the DVB-S and DVB-T at the same time where both recording stopped after just 3-4 seconds (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...re-failing). But your problems sounds different.

I'm sure I can dig out the logs - I meant to do so after posting yesterday but forgot Smile The 4400 allows you to use multiple inputs/tuners at the same time, but 4000 does not. However my problem is even when recording from one input/tuner and trying to use the same one. Instead of telling me the device is in use and leaving the recording alone, it tells me the device is in use and breaks the recording.

Here's the logs of a recording breaking. I set it to record BBC1 breakfast (from DVB-S), tried to watch ITV1 (also DVB-S) and was told no tuner available but the recording didn't break. Then tried to watch RTE1 (DVB-T) was told it was unable to start the device but the recording of BBC1 died at that point. Is this just an issue with this particular card?

BigMoose, I cannot see anything obvious in the logs but I guess you'd be better off if Sub did take a look.

I also think you might want to post in the support forum, if you're not getting any help here.

Yeah, I was considering asking in support as perhaps sub doesn't look for issues posted in here. I assume it's specific to the 4000 though hence decided not to post in support to start with Smile Thanks for taking a look. I couldn't see anything obvious either.
