I have a large library of films in various formats, some of which the MVP will play and some that won't. The ones that won't just reboot the system back to the main menu.

It seems to be newer films that I download (legally of course Tongue) that arn't working.

Im using ffdshow to decode the files (which are mostly divx and xvid).

Using the latest version of NPVR with the latest patches.

Any ideas?

You forgot to include the transcode.txt file but I'd suspect it will show you either had an error trying to transcode or it was taking more than the 10 seconds that NPVR allows for the transcoding to begin.

With the complex media available today for the best experience on the MVP you should manually transcode file to DVD quality mpeg 2 video with mp2a.

There is no transcode.txt file in the logs folder, is it stored somewhere else?

I was just throwing out some ideas, I don't support the MVP for playback of anything but standard SD video and mp3 audio anymore.

AVS4YOU works very well for me, I have the latest version (I think), it hasn't failed me till now. The older version had problems with mkv-files.
But I don't use it a lot, only when a recording fails or like last month when we were on holiday, I download the necessary files to keep mrs HtV happy.

A profile with mpeg2-video and mp2-sound, I made one myself.
