2.1.4 Tuner usage logic

- improved tuner usage logic to make it more likely for recordings to include padding in multi-tuner setups

Installed 2.1.4 today looking forward to this improvement. Did some test recordings, and still see first analog tuner always used when others are available, so no padding. Then saw a recording that started with prepadding on the second tuner, but stopped 2 minutes after actual start time. Recordings and TVListings still showed it as recording (Red Sox First Pitch), but Device Status shows the tuner not in use.

Then the first recording did not stop. Recordings and TVListings showed it stopped (Boston Lobsters), but Device Status shows the tuner still recording, and it is still recording.

Logs attached. Now I'll reboot.

Bump I've not had any more errors, but do not see any improvement in alternate tuner selection in order to honor padding with analog tuners. Will there be any further effort towards this?

I've got your post noted down to investigate. Tuner allocation problems are time consuming to investigate, so I need to find a a decent chunk of time to look into it.

The basic gist of how the allocation is now working is - it pre-allocates recordings as tightly as it can, using the least amount of capture devices (ie, padding not taken into account at this early stage), but then at recording time will move an "about to record" recording to different tuners if possible to try to get padding. There is a lot of factors in whether this is possible or not (like overlaps with other potential recordings on the possible target tuner etc).

I understand, thanks for the reply. I thought perhaps the old "prefer alternate capture source" setting might become available. I know these analog tuners are less of a priority now, and they may be obsolete for me soon as analog cable goes away.
