Now I may be off but I would really like the ability to just play a dvd. I love gbpvr and think it is great. My buddy saw it and he decided to build his own but went with MythTV. We have sort of been in a battle on who can do what and he can play dvd's or rip them.

Although I don't mind ripping them at times... I have some episodes DVD that I would really just want to watch.

you can play normal dvds with gbpvr, you always could (well when i started with gbpvr back in sept last year you could), just add the set it up in the config.

i use gbpvr to play dvds.

Yes and no. Native no but if you rename the vob's to mpg and copy them to a folder you can.
