The little mark you circled in those screenshosts is incorrectly parsed UTF16 chinese description. I haven't had a chance to investigate what it doesnt like - but if I fix it, you'll then see chinese descriptions in the tv guide.

Oh, the irony... I had a feeling you'd say that ... :-) There may be some users who want that fixed, so I can't be selfish and say "Choice, leave it!" but I do obviously have a patch that does leave out the chinese descriptions AND gives me an almost flawless guide ...
