I've not played many mkv files on my PCH but I have 2 that have no audio at all. They play fine on the PC. I think it might be due to the audio being DTS and I'm not sure of the best way to convert the audio to AC3 or something else.
I'd like some suggestions for conversion without any loss of quality to the audio.

I'm not sure there's an easy way. I've done it before (a while ago) and there's a bunch of tools needed for it.

Get MKVTools, and you'll need to split the mkv to it's video and audio streams.
Then once split, convert the DTS track to AC3
Then using the mkvtools put the new ac3 audio back into the mkv.

But before doing that, check there's not a 2nd audio track already there, and use something like vlc to make use the DTS track is actually there. I can't think of any other way of doing it, but someone may be able to help/

If this is a DTS problem there is more than one answer. To address "without any loss of quaility" the only solution is to plug the A100 into an AVR or TV that accepts and decodes raw DTS. If you want to convert with some loss of quality this is the best and simplest http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...oconverter

Note the A110 and EGreat M34a have DTS to 2.0 channel PCM downmix definitely the best for PCH to TV scenarios that don't accept DTS input.

I just tried MKV2AC3 and it converted a 6GB file to AC3 audio to a 4.8GB file which worked.
I have a Yamaha RX-V471 receiver and the PCH both going to my HDTV via HDMI. MKV's are the only files that I have trouble with. I think I can live with MKV2AC3
Thank for the other ideas.
