I am amazed at the level of this program. I just bought a hauppauge wintv usb 2.0 and have tried demos of all the other pvrs out there. Not only does this one blow them all away but it is free too. Thanks!

I have one question though. When I maximize the screen (using Win XP), the task bar and the top bar are still showing. Is there a way to go to full screen mode and not have any windows components showing?

Everything else is running like a dream. Thanks, again.

Uncheck the 'show in windowed mode' on the front screen of the config app.

Sub, I just got a 42" plasma :-)

THe picture quality is fantastic using DVI from my Fx5700 to DVI on the TV. Full screen MS Media player seems as good as playng from a regular dvd player.

However even though I've setup GBPVR to be full screen it starts up with GBPVR in a white bordered rectangle that is not full screen nor centered. It is down and right, and the bottom and right edges are off screen.

The nVidia card is set to 800x600, but the native resolution of the panel is 852x480. I can't figure out how to get it to accept a custom resolution of 852x480 yet.

Any tips to remedy this?

Cheers,
JohnO

I ont know how to change the resplution to a custom one, but you should be able to use the Nvidia tools to recenter and expand the picture on your plasma. These can be acessed by going to the display properties and under the settings tab click advanced and a new window will appear with several other tabs, click the Nvidia one and a whole menu of choices will pop-up

P.S. Why didnt you get an HD Plasma?

Try downloading powerstrip. It'll let you run your card at 852x480.

Cheers ejeffers,

I don't think those settings apply when using the FDVI connection? It is acting as a monitor not a TV.

Didn't bother with an HDTV as:
a) It the HDTV plasmas are more than double the price and
b) There's no HDTV broadcasts in NZ so it's a waste of money anyway.

If the price drops and they bring out an HDTV broadcast/satellite service this one can go in the family room and I can get a HDTV then (at no doubt far cheaper price)

Thanks Sub, but I resolved it. I had previously had dual view enabled witha monitor on vga and tv on tv-out. Now with the plasma on DVI I needed to turn off all the nview desktop features and it is now perfect :-)

Cheers,
