This is one thing, which comes from time to time and is really, really annoying.

With all planned recordings, there will come a time where you just "forget" to control the recording drive/partition.
If this happens, then NextPVR doesn't say anything. Instead it's starting recording tasks and don't stop them.
Yesterday i had 9 instances of nextpvr.exe on my server, because the harddisk was full. No sentence or warning inside NextPVR.
And this is not the first time, that something like this happened to me. Big Grin

That doesn't make sense. It doesn't start instances of nextpvr.exe when recording. Those must have been there for some other reason.

It's not a direct reaction of NextPVR, but an indirect one. If the disk is full, then the recording service freezes and other tasks related with NextPVR can't be completed (like EPG Update etc).
My HomeServer has no own display and no keyboard/mouse, so i can't see problems immediately. The last successful recordings were 4 days ago, all other planned recordings couldn't completed, because there were just 32 kb left on the harddisk.
In case of the active nextpvr.exe tasks ... i have running the npvr recording service 24h/7d and start every 8 hours via tasksheduler nextpvr.exe -updatepg. Do you think this could be the cause for the many nextpvr.exe tasks, even if the sheduler is configured to shutdown any instance like this after 1 hour? Perhaps i should try this one.
At least i attached the whole logfiles in case of the disk full phenomen.

After a recent live tv experience gone wild, filled my disk, I would like the option of setting a minimum, for me maybe 1GB, where NRecord would not bother starting recording any new file if the space wasn't there.

unfortunately I'm away from home for a few days with only an iPhone so I can't open your zip file. Remind me on Wednesday to take a look.

Yeah, this sounds good. And an announcement within NextPVR itself were great too. And not only displayed on the server itself, but on the clients too (as mentioned before). Something like a blinking red circle on the mainscreen with a warntext like "disk full" if the mvallevand mentioned limit is reached.

Along these lines it would also be nice if NPVR could somehow recognize if space runs out during a recording; currently it just keeps blindly trying to write blocks to the disk that go nowhere, and keeps updating the Timing.Info ADS (there's room for it since the disk block is already allocated when the space runs out). In many cases I can't even tell that a recording is truncated until it abruptly ends during playback, since the timeline will indicate the show is full length.
