Yesterday I woke my PC up to do some maintenance and I noted that 20 minutes later I had a scheduled recording. When I finished, it got my wondering when NRecord starts block requests. If my PC is set to wake up 90 seconds before recording will NRecord prevent the the PC from going to sleep during that window? I know NTray doesn't seem to care

By default it asks Windows to wake up 90 seconds before the pre-padding on a recording is due to kick in. It'll keep the machine awake from that time until the end of post padding.

Ok thanks, if it doesn't need to resume and it is already running will that timer still cut in?

Yes, it from that 90 seconds out from pre-padding it'll tell the machine not to go to sleep.

I have a feeling (not confirmed) that Windows itself has some logic as well to stop it going to sleep if there is an imminent wakeup call.
The above from testing in the earlier years and finding out I had to set up recordings 15 minutes or so in advance or the machine wouldn't sleep.

I'm not sure it does have any such logic... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...up-on-time
Nistrod found that his machine happened to go to sleep due to the idle timer at the exact same time that it was supposed to wake up for a recording, and it stayed asleep until the next wakeup an hour later and missed half of his recording.
