raspbmc takes about 30 seconds i guess to boot
tv takes about 5 to 10 seconds to start for me

i believe those figures will reduce as the pi matures, its still early days, the menu speeds have improved so much in the few months ive had it.

Out of curiosity, how long from power on to TV Guide or viewing a recording?? (for me to compare to an NMT booting up and connecting).

The initial load after install can take a little while but after that boot to menu is 30 second and then syncing the EPG takes another minute. I suppose you could browse recordings while the EPG is sync'd, but probably best not to start watching a show until the sync finishes so it's smoother.

I haven't set up a hard drive install yet to see what it's boot time is It may be faster.

personally i would reflash it with RC5 and try the latest rpi npvr addon. if that doesnt work, revert to 929 and try the earlier addon. that should work fine, basically all i did.
