Conversion Processing

Hi. On the GB-PVR config processing tab what is conversion processing and how do I get it to work. I've tried setting the settings but nothing seems to happen. I've read thru the wiki pages but they all seem to be about next-pvr which does not seem to have this. Thanks

From memory, GBPVR uses ffmpeg to do conversion processing. The strings displayed in the Tab are ffmpeg parameters. You can Google ffmpeg for details of the parameters.

GBPVR is no longer being developed. All the development effort and most of the users have moved on to NPVR.

Why do you need to do the conversion?

For example, NPVR creates recorded TV files in .TS containers but the content of the files is the same as received in the digital broadcast. As I understand, for example, in the US all digital broadcasts are in mpg (SD and HD). In the UK, SD is mpg and HD is H264.

I would expect that most software would look at the TS file produced by NPVR and recognise the content as mpg (or whatever) and process the video correctly.
