Hi,

It's really hard to work out which the FreeSat channels are, plus it would be great to have the scan list so that it grabs the right channels for the location (eg: I'm in Yorkshire, so I want BBC1 Yorks, ITV W Yorks, BBC2 England etc)

Also, it would be great if it was possible to map the channel numbers according to the FreeSat EPG data.

DVBGuide generates the channel numbers correctly in the ChannelInfo.xml file, so I wonder if this would be of use?

Its the same problem for anyone in UK with a FTA satellite receiver but a Freesat receiver has the postcode data built in to select the correct regional channels. It would probably be a major task to include it into NextPVR just for UK users when its a simple problem to sort out manually. Its easy to sort out BBC1, BBC2 and ITV1 as they have the region in the name such as "BBC1 West" then delete the unwanted ones. With Channels 4 & 5 its only the adverts which are regionalised so if you really want the correct adverts you have to select the channel with the correct VPID. Sky News is also regionalised with UK and Irish version. All the data needed is on the web site:-

I know the information is available there.

Maybe what would be nicer is a method to import/export channels and mappings?

That way people could supply FTA lists of channels for various satellites without having to spend hours setting up channel numbers etc

I do intend to add a channel import/export feature in the next release.

That's fantastic news - I'd be happy to write some kind of system to support uploading and parsing those files so that people could just select their satellite and tick some boxes and potentially select their region within the UK and they could download customised channel maps Smile
