I didn't install a trial version, but NPVR doesn't offer me any additional codecs. On my old vista machine I ran PDVD8 or something, then I did see some codec's exposed to NPVR.
I am running the saf6 locked verison. I found the ffmpeg actually does nice for the .ts streams. It handles skip forward and back better than LAV, and it handles errors in the steam well. LAV is the only one that worked for DVDs. But that was okay because NPVR lets me specify all those options.
What does the SAF6 unlocked do that the locked version won't do?
