Playback stops while watching a recording in progress on a client machine

I wouldn't be surprised if this behavior has the same cause as the Live TV freezes on clients here.

That could be the case, are the freezes ever occurring while performing a skip? In my case that seems to be when I have the most problems. I think that the random large forward skips are the key to the issue. If the point where I'm watching is close to being 'live', say 5 minutes behind, and I hit skip, if that skip is one of the random large forward skips it will cause it to crash. If I'm far enough behind live, I just get a large forward skip. Just a thought.

Scanning through that thread, it sounds live it could very well be the same issue. For now I've just been using sub's xbmc PVR add-on for playback. My preference would be to go back to the NextPVR client though - primary issues being lack of comskip, season recording setup and automatic update of the recordings list in xbmc.

My original thought was that this was just happening for recordings in progress. Tonight while watching a completed recording it happened several times.

Tried this last night to watch the Super Bowl. No issues with the video suddenly stopping but I'd rather be able to use NPVR. It may just be in my head but I feel as if the picture quality is better with NPVR.

If you still have it could you extract the Timing.Info from Modern Family.S04E13.Fulgencio.ts as follows, compress and upload it

more < Modern Family.S04E13.Fulgencio.ts:Timing.Info > Timing.Info

It happened again during an in progress recording. I've attached the logs and a timing info file i got using your utility. Hope this helps. Play back froze after a skip.

Skipping on an in-progress recording is different, but that video is growing so not an issue. Sub might see something, but it looks perfect to me and it doesn't show the video exit the other logs did.
