I haven't been able to setup GBpvr to record to a networked disk.
I've tried to map the drive to the local system by local drive letter.
I've also tried to set the recordings directory to use a disk that is found via the networkneighborhood.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Steve,
since the service that is doing the recording is running as System it will never see a mapped shared drive. You will have to do a number of things,

NOTE: I have not tested this but this is usually how it works

you must use UNC to the share ex: \\machinename\share
you must have that share EVERYONE FULL CONTROL

If that still does not work for you change the account the service starts as to a user account that exists on both machines (or if you in a domain use a domain account that has Administrator access to both machines.)
then make sure that account has FULL CONTROL to the share.

if you are doing this between 2 XP machines MAKE SURE Simple File Sharing is DISABLED. (this is trash and should be done anyway)

This is between to w2k machines.

I was going to try using UNC which works fine from the START > RUN > OPEN ' \\machinename\share'

But, from within GBPVR config, it doesn't seem to allow typing of any strings in for the recordings directory. You are required to use the browse button.

Is there a config file I can edit the UNC setting into?

I have two systems each with tuner cards. I'd like to have all recordings end up on one raid disk array.

You can manually enter the UNC in config.xml

That being said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend recording directly to a network drive. Personally, I would record locally & move the file to the net drive after the fact. Then just point Video Library to the UNC. Here's why:

Looking in "Recordings", each instance of GB-PVR will only seeing the shows that *it* recorded, it will not see shows recorded by the other instances of GB-PVR. Looking in Video Library you will see all recordings in the path(s) specified, regardless of how they got there.

Take a look at some of the many excellent plugins & utilities for GB-PVR. With a little research you will find the right combination of tools to get the end result you are looking for.
