If playback is fine and only switching is bad that might be normal with your configuration especially if all channels play fine in NextPVR. Try with and without timeshifting in xbmc, ensure you have the R2 patch and maybe try changing between DS and WSAPI for audio.

How do i go about changing timeshifting and changing audio?

In XBMC on the pvr.nextpvr configuration you enable timeshifting. Audio is changed in XBMC Settings

timeshift is already enabled, changing audio has no effect on channel changing

Also make sure you have the latest NextPVR patches installed from the sticky thread.
