Did the install and went to settings - devices did not show any devices. have directv dvr on network. should pvr see this box?

Forgive my ignorance but do you have a Set top box? And if so does it have some kind of video out connector?

I inferred from the wording of the original question that he wanted NPVR to access his directv dvr over the network, which of course it will not. I thought perhaps he might come back with a further explanation of what he wanted to accomplish, but he seems to have given up instead. c'est la vie...
