I was looking at the X300 and needed to know if GBPVR will work with the MPEG 1/2/4 hardware decoder or will it try to us the software decoder instead?

the only hardware decoders that work are the xcard and the 350, so no it wont work. you'll have to use a software decoder.

But it is just a stadard video card and will not the ATI drivers load a software drive that will not decode the video and send it to the card it self?? If not then all video player whould then need to understand each video card made?

I did finally by an ATI card but I got the ATI 9550 and the drivers that come with the card work in GBPVR. My CPU usage during play back is around 2 - 3%. However, the only problem is the resizing of the screen during playback F7 does not work with these drivers. Therefore, what that means this that all play back is in standard screen 4:3 format and I have black bars on left and right sides. I did not like that, so I went back to the standard mpeg drivers.

I just thought that this would be useful information to someone.
