Greetings,

I need some help setting up my capture card or attempting to set it up... not sure if it will work at all.

Specifically i need help with editing the INI file to see if it'll kick in or not.

Can anybody please help me out with this? I need to know how i can define this for my card:

[Conexant BDA DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Conexant BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod
FILTER_CAPTURE=Conexant 2388x Transport Stream Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

My card is a ATI RADEON X300 SE.

Thanks!:confused:

I'm not sure if i follow you correctly.
The ATI RADEON X300 SE is not a capture card AFAIK...
Are you trying to use this for capturing tv?

That is my system... perhaps that will help make sense of this.

Not sure if there is a different item in there that does it other than the Radeon but the thing is that i have [Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005] and i have the ability to "tivo" tv shows with media center. It comes with a remote and all.

So i'm assuming there is a capture card in there in order to be able to do this.

BTW - geez thanks for the quick response!!! :o

Well, googling around I can't seem to find out what type of card the xps 400 came with. As close as I can find it MAY be an Emuzed Angel Dual TV Tuner card, but I can't really tell.
Possibly someone else might be able to help you figure out what kind of card you have.
Sorry I couldn't help more...

On your desktop, if you right click on my computer, choose properties-->Hardware-->Device Manager
what do you have under 'Sound, video and game controllers'??

Anything named Angel

I am not on my home computer right now. I will go through and check that out and get some screen shots and post them on here as soon as i get home. That's where i was looking. It does pick up the Emuzed Angel thing on one screen on the config but when i try to map the channels there is a diff section that doesn't have any entries that match my machine. This question is slightly more involved than i thought it would be.

!Thanks for your continued help! Cool

it is 3pm here right now... i will get home around 6pm. I might miss you but perhaps tomorrow you might have some more insight.

I'll set up a more comprehensive help request.

Again thanks.

If it is an Emuzed Angel then is this not just an analog card? You would not need to map any channels.
You would only need to hook up your cable directly into the card.

Carlito,
You are a good guide. that last posting of your's pinpointed the issue. I'm trying to set it up incorrectly. Yes it is analog i think. It kinda worked. it gets the tv guide and such but it wont show the live tv or any tv.

I tried the "watch live tv" button and i tried to access a channel through the tv guide.

I've gotten an error through both methods:
Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

One if the times i tried through the tv guide i got "snow" i clicked on the + - signs and just got many channels worth of snow. hehe

You answered my question. Perhaps you have the answer to this next issue.Wink

Are you running any sort of antivirus on the gbpvr box? I think some have been known to cause this.
Also next time this happens exit gbpvr and post all of your log files
(all files in the logs directory if using 99.05 or all *.log files in installation directory if using previous versions)

Also, do you get any channels when using the tuning assistant. you can find this in your start menu under gbpvr.
