A few times now I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for my audio device. Every time I have done this the npvr client will no longer playback audio. It doesn't show up in the windows volume mixer as it normally would. Changing the audio renderer setting doesn't solve it. The only solution I've found is to delete the npvr.db3 file and start over. I believe last time this occurred there was no audio in recordings either.

I've zipped up my log files if that helps any. I'm running on windows 7 64-bit fyi.

With the audio not working, post the logs an attempt to play a recording, or watch live tv, and I'll take a look. Thanks npvr.log you posted just shows the app starting, the screensaver kicking in, and then the app being closed - nothing that uses audio.

First off, I'd leave my audio renderer on default rather than selecting other audio renderers.

What type of audio are channels using (MPEG1 Layer II, or AC3)? and what decoders do you have selected for those? It looks like you might have 'Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder' selected for AC3. That decoder has been knobbled by Microsoft to not give AC3 audio in 3rd party apps, so will give no audio in NextPVR.

I changed the renderer from default to a specific device attempting to see if I could get any audio
I'm using the HDPVR and I believe i have it set to AC3, for AC3 I have the arcsoft audio decoder selected. The MS DTV-DVD is set for mpeg1.

I've never used the ArcSoft audio decoder for AC3. Try another AC3 decoder like AC3Filter.

Interesting. Changing the AC3 decoder around solved it this time. It hadn't in the past so I didn't try it this time.
