EPG update whoopsy

Sorry, I would've taken careful note if I had realized that it might prove important to someone. I wonder if these settings would avoid a wakeup:

<EPGUpdateHour>2</EPGUpdateHour>
<EPGUpdateTime>02:00:00</EPGUpdateTime>
<EPGUpdateEnabled>false</EPGUpdateEnabled>

these settings do still configure a "waketimer" in windows 8.

Timer set by [SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NRecord.exe (NPVR Recording Service) expires at 02:00:00 on 06.04.2013.

seems that deleting tag "<EPGUpdateTime>" from config.xml does the trick for me.

<EPGUpdateHour>None</EPGUpdateHour>
<EPGUpdateEnabled>false</EPGUpdateEnabled>

service starting correctly and no wakeuptimer is set... perfect

since my config.xml had <EPGUpdateHour>None</EPGUpdateHour> with capital letter N when i started looking into it, i only tried <EPGUpdateTime>None</EPGUpdateTime>.
but this gives me error "Unable to start service. ... Timeout has expired..."

when using lower-case <EPGUpdateTime>none</EPGUpdateTime> like you suggest, it does work for me too! (same as deleting the entry).
so finally there are two solutions to my problem.

I like Graham's solution better. I wonder what sort of error would occur if you went to Misc2 and clicked OK with no <EPGUpdateTime> in config?

easy to check... if you delete it, <EPGUpdateTime> is not created and so... the changed value is not saved.
so you are right. if you plan to change and save the value in the future via Settings... it's the better solution.
