After setting x-newa back to vlc and making a recording without sound. I went into the manage recordings tab and selected the recording got to
the transcoding menu. Setup suggested settings saved exited and then went back to play a channel and boom it's working video and audio with vlc.

so

I decided to try direct. went to the same channel that I was recording and boom direct work great audio and video

But

changed to a channel that I was not recording and I have the same problem. hangs for about 15 seconds and then audio and video for two seconds and then
the screen locks up for 2 min until the epg resets itself.

so, basically If I am recording - I can watch video and audio in direct, native mode. If I am not recording then I can only watch with audio and video in vlc

strange.. I would be willing to bet that this is a pretty common problem amount x-newa users. As I've read in different places of similar problems. I am more than

willing to assist more in trying to figure it out if you wish. Thank You again for your time Martin. Your most kind assisting with this. and btw I think X-newa is a really nice program.

I don't know if it's a bug or something else.

can you tell me how to go about setting up timeshift? I will try that next....

It might be something on the server but I can't explain why they don't grow as new graphs. It is something sub might need to address. If you do use vlc you will want better quality than the defaults.

My analog channels work just fine, but I use tuner.

You just need to share the live tv folder in Windows and set timeshift mode in x-newa setup.

Martin,

I created the SMB share where recordings are.

where exactly do I specify that share on the client? I can't seem to find any settings for putting folders in
under live tv with the exception of where thumb nails are stored.

Thank You...

Right now time shifting sharts up with 5% and goes up to 50% then returns to epg and never starts video

The share should be a guest share newa tells xnewa the file too open. web and xbmc.log files will show the interaction.

Martin;

I really appreciate you taking the time to assist with these issues. Time shifting is working now and vlc via network.

Thank You once again. Really strange why the other didn't work though.

Have a great weekend.

fyi - to fix I made the live tv share in the pvr software the //sharename/livetv instead of pointing to the directory directly.

You may want to sticky this entire thread as I am sure that others are having these same issues.

Take Care

Odd indeed native should work just like in xbmc, and all I have to do is share c:\temp For proper timeshifting you might need to play with the pre buffer if it stops early and post buffer if you find the video tearing.

Thanks for sticking with if others need it I'll post links for sure.
