Ok I look at how to sort.

I know I can filter by ready recordings.

Do In progress ones will show up as pending or something else?

Yeah, from memory they're in both pending and ready.

Is there a method getting the info on one recording item?

Ie like the services?method=recording.list but for returning a single item? plex is a bit stupid and I have to duplicate some of teh calls, and I'd rather not, each time I look at a video have to parse then entire recording.list again.

Why not just use a python container to store the contents of the parsed recording list?

Because I didn't know that existed. Before this week I'd never used python.

Have a look at x-newa the original author used a lot of dictionaries, tuples etc. I went further I used python pickles to persist the data even when the backend is off. I didn't know any python either.
