I have downloaded and installed both the service onto PC and App onto my Android tablet.
Today I restarted the service and checked the logs, do not see any issues.

Uninstalled the nDroid application on tablet and re-installed it.
Updated the IP address and next field for external.
It just shows the spinning wheel.
I checked the logs on PC, it does not show any connection attempts at all.
So I am thinking this is a problem on the tablet.

The IP address is valid. The tablet is ASUS TF700 running Android 4.2.1
I see some files in;
/sdcard/Android/data/uk.co.beetec.android.nDroid/files
The temp directory has 7 files in it.
Skin and Logos directories are empty.

Any thoughts?

Firewall? In particular allow 8790 and 8791 incoming access (assuming you haven't changed the default port). Simply setting a rule for the nDroidService.exe probably won't work depending on Windows version.

Also, is this nDroid v1.9.0 or nDroid (TE)?

Cheers,
Brian

It was the firewall, I have opened those two ports. Sorry I missed that sticky regarding the ports.
I think I am using nDroid 1.9, I don't see the nDroid TE on Google Play.
Not sure if I need to join the Beta Group, I have submitted a request to join.

Thanks so much, Paul

Glad you've got it working.

There's nothing to test on the Beta front at the moment although you're very welcome to join the group and I've approved your membership. If you search Google Play for ndroid nextpvr or simply Beetec Services (my publishing account name), nDroid TE should show up.

Cheers,
Brian

Thank you. I originally searched for Droid TE and it did not show up. I have installed and it is working well.
I can certainly test any future builds on my environment if that helps you.

I am using MX Player to play the video and it works very well.

I am interested to hear if you or somebody else has found an Android player that can use Comskip files (either the TXT or EDL).
I have tried a bunch of players, so far no luck.
On the PC, mplayer seems to be workable and you can add a reference to the cutfile on the command line.
I found a couple of mplayer builds for Android, but no option to check for Comskip files.
Any ideas?

Great glad you found it and got it working. I'll email the Beta testers group when I upload a new version but I've fallen behind on development (yet again) - a friend works for a local radio station in SE England and they want an Android app. As they're prepared to pay me for it, it's had to on priority. Smile

It's not something I've looked into personally as I don't use comskip.

Interesting - I wonder if it might be worth contacting the authors of the apps to see if they're intending to add comskip support. In theory if a player app asked the nDroid Streamer for a comskip file / files from the same folder as the video file is being streamed, it should work.

Cheers,
Brian
