I think I am almost all setup, but I have one more step to go. Here's what i have:
Hauppauge WinTV 418 Video Capture set up (Hauppauge HVR-1850 tuner card) set up well. After a lot of tries, I am receiving channels and video and audio in NPVR. However, I can't get it to change channels. In Settings>Devices>Hauppauge WinTV 418 Video Capture, I have the Channel Changer Executable set to HaupBlast.exe, but nothing happens. I saw in a previous thread about running a command line "C:\Program Files\NPVR\HaupBlast.exe" 300 and that gets me the following:

m_IRBlasterPort == 0; hcwirblast.dll disabled

I've edited the irremote.ini as directed here, but still nothing.

The blaster does work. I have the system working great in Windows Media Center, except that Comcast put up a broadcast flag on the local channels (HD and SD) so that I can't record them now. However, the blaster works fine to change channels in WMC.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Have you run the Hauppauge BlastCfg utility, set the type of set top box, and confirmed it's working there?

I have run the Hauppauge CIR Config Tool, which I think is the same thing, but you may want to confirm that with me.
It says:
"No Hauppauge remote control receivers have been detected. Media Center will use one of the remote control receivers below. [checked in checkbox] eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR) OK-Save Changes Cancel-Discard Changes"
I click the OK button.
Searching the computer, I don't have a file called blastcfg anywhere. I have updated all drivers from Hauppauge website and installed the latest version of WinTV.
Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know. It's been years since I used a blaster myself. You'll need to get this stuff working outside NextPVR before HaupBlast.exe has any chance of working in NextPVR though. HaupBlast.exe is just a simple wrapper that just asks the Hauppauge IR software to "change to channel x". It doesn't do any blasting or configuration itself.

It sounds like you've got a MCE remote and blaster, rather than the retail style remote/blaster. You probably need to use something like HIP or IRSS or EventGhost instead of HaupBlast.exe

The CIR Config Tool is to set whether the Hauppauge IR receiver functions in Hauppauge mode or MCE mode. It has nothing to do with the blaster.

Thanks for the responses.
Yes I have an MCE remote and blaster.
I found the BlastCfg tool on Hauppauge's website and ran it. It says "no ir blaster hw found"
I'll try HIP and/or IRSS and post an update.

Well now I've installed IRSS and it won't learn any commands from the Comcast Xfinity remote.

I'v found HIP is very versatile, you could try it.

I got IRSS to recognize 0 and 1 from my Comcast remote but nothing else. It does blast 0 and 1 successfully, though. It times out on attempts to program any other command. Also does the same thing on the Debug client.
Are there XML configuration files for Comcast remotes to work on MCE remote/blasters on IRSS?

HIP isn't working either. When I try to get it to learn an IR command from the Comcast remote it immediately says, before I have a chance to press a button, "ERROR!!" in red text, with a pop up that says "An error or timeout occurred. Do you wish to try again?" Trying again, the problem recurs.
