So what media player do I need to watch live TV via nDroid on the Galaxy S3 SCH-I535? Apparently VLC for Android doesn't support the Qualcomm SoC/CPU (not ARM based) - at least that's the gist of what I read/saw.

Also, believe I read that nDroid development has ceased. However, nDroid (TE) marches on and that's what I should install on the S3. That correct?

I use MX player pro on my galaxy tabs with the older Ndroid app.

Ndroid TE is the newer version aimed at tablets etc. but I am not sure of the development status of this now as I think Brian is focusing on other work away from here. Ndroid TE doesn't fully work for me unfortunately as the recordings don't play on my Samsung tablets (same with my children's PIPO tablets).

Brian still posts here so ask away.

Choice of media player is a difficult one to advise as there are a number of factors to consider - these include device capabilities (CPU, GPU, availability of HW decoding / acceleration etc) but also broadcast standards (bitrate, resolution etc). It's really a case of trying as many media players as possible and settling on one which works for you.

Basically what odin said.

I no longer actively work on the original nDroid v1.x version and any future releases will be for TE (which is based on the v1.x core components but has been tidied and slimmed down quite a bit). Unfortunately it has its problems and my time and energy has been spread a bit thin over the past few months with some other projects I've been involved with. I am back to concentrating on TE again though and looking through the "ToDo" list of things that need fixing.

Cheers,
Brian
