There is settings in the <Playback> section of config.xml which control the skip size etc. You may not be aware of the ability to type the number of minutes to skip though? ie, type "2" "0" then press the Skip button to jump 20 minutes. Makes it really easy to jump around long distances when needed.

Wasn't aware of that... The more I learn the more I like this software. I have a remote in transit from newegg that I am looking forward to using. Though I am starting to learn some of the keyboard controls...

Ok so not completely remedied but getting closer. I have a few recordings over the next 2-3 days and I will see how that goes and report back any issues. Thanks to all that have made suggestions...They are greatly appreciated!

Appears that I have solved the playback issue. I believe it to be the HDhomerun settings that were the issue. I am going to try reloading comskip (now that I have read up more on proper installation in the parallelprocessing scripts section) and see what happens... I can always disable or remove it again if it acts up...

Please detail what setting it was, how it was set and how you have it set now.

ok, still having issues... working on trying alternatives to see if I can pinpoint the issues. I finally read up on how to correctly install the patches, that has made a huge difference. I am slowing learning how to use batch files to automate functions and features however it is a slow process up the learning curve.

My HDhomerun settings -> main application -> other/atsc Secondary(preview)-> HDhomerun Quick TV

I still on occassion get play issues where it won't even open up the .ts file to play. I believe part of this is the comskip software that is running in a parallelprocessigng script. Since I just figured out how to do this(batch file creation), I am working on tuning my .ini settings.

I need to figure out a systematic process to eliminate variables, however when I am not 100% confident how everything works it is a bit of shot in the dark.

I played around with the ini file but the setting which worked best was detect_method=255. This basically uses all of the detection methods and for me (cable) gets maybe 90% of the cuts perfectly.
