I have a colossus and hd pvr connected to two individual set top boxes. One set top box works flawlessly, the other has a bit of an issue where it takes a few seconds to acquire the signal and display video on the first access of the tuner after an hour or more. If the tuner has been used recently, it seems to display the signal immediately. There is an option on the device setting page to "Wait longer before starting recording capture." If I have this option deselected, I get the video recorded, but the audio gives me problems because the OSD for the tuner shows up, but no audio is being output. Eventually when the video displays, audio is recorded for use in VLC or other related video players, but isn't identified properly on the recording for NPVR or VideoReDo to use the audio stream. If I have it selected, the OSD disappears by the time the recording starts, so NPVR is showing this:

2014-01-20 22:33:33.296 [DEBUG][11] Device reports resolution: 0x0 (fps:0) (aspect:0) (progressive:0) (videoIdCode:0)

So no video is being recorded, and recording services freezes up and causes major glitches in that no recordings can start beyond this point.

Is there a way to set the length of time for the "wait longer before recording capture," or is that a set length that cannot be adjusted? I'd rather lose 15 seconds of a recording on the second tuner than freeze up the entire system, especially with the Olympics about to start!!!

Are you using an IR Blaster? I assume so, since most people with this type of setup do use a blaster. You can set it to run a batch file for your blaster, and run whatever executable your need from there, plus a sleep command. Hopefully that'd give you what you need.

I've made it configurable in config.xml for the next release.

Yes, using an IR blaster, this one using the haupblast.exe (I think that's what it's called). Good suggestion on the sleep command, I didn't consider a batch file for the blaster. And thanks for the note on making "wait longer..." configurable in case I can't get the batch file to work properly.
