The Samsung TV is Hard Wired on my network, I had Windows Firewall turned off on my NextPVR PC.

I have attached the Logs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Having looked at the logs I see the TV gets stuck at the first state of “tasting” the file where it determines duration an such.

When this happens its usually because the file is corrupt in any way or the streamer's respond is not the expected.

I've got a few questions:

What NextPVR version are you on?

What version does the Samsung app state in the settings page?

What is the model of your TV set?

Can you provide a file sample? (using Dropbox, google drive or similar to share the file)
Just a few minutes of a recording that is otherwise fine but won't play in the app.

Some people using HDHomeRuns for recording have reported the files are not always playable on Samsung devices unless “remuxed”.

What would I use to ReMux the file? I can try that.

Hi, firstly thanks for developing this app it should make things easier for the wife and kids once I get it working.

I am able to install the software on the server and get it to verify the server but when I log in as develop and add my IP nothing happens once user app sync is started. I have also tried adding the manual IP address given but still nothing happens.

I am able to I install the emby app via the develop options so I am guessing it is not a problem with the TV's

I just don't know where I am going wrong, any help would be very appreciated.

OK, so your problem is on synchronization nothing happens?

This may be a firewall issue.
To find out do the following...

Start “SmartTV app loader” on any computer. Since you've used it to successfully install the server part onto your NextPVR server that's a good choice.

Click the “Verify server” button and it should go green.
If it doesn't turn green that computer probably has some other service using port 80 which is needed for the synchronization to work. In this case try running “Smart TV app loader” from another computer on the same network as your TVs.

When you get passed the verify server part with a green light you're ready for the next step.

While SmartTV app loader is running use another computer to browse to http://<the-ip-address-showing-in-Smart-tv-app-loader>/widgetlist.xml
This should give you an XML file in response. If it does, you should be able to sync using the same IP on your TVs. If you don't get an xml in response you probably have to enable http or port 80 through the firewall on the computer running Smart TV apploader.

Newer TVs also tend to instead of showing an error while synching just silently refuse to install an app. I don't recall ever seen it happen to the “NextPVRWeb Launcher” though.

Good luck!

BTW everyone...
There is a new sub forum opened just the other day where support questions regarding this app can be asked.

It should. That TV has the required samsung Smart TV app platform. As to whether it works well in all aspects or not is something you'll only find out by trying it. Discussion for this app has moved to the Add-ons forum; there's a link to it just above your post.

I have tried the May 2016 version on Win 7 64bit - worked fine, same one on Win 8.1 gets the same exception, have run as Admin, have also set Compat to Win7 and run as Admin, same thing. Also fails to show any "Apps". Win 8.1 Pro does NOT have a "C:\inetpub" folder, copied it from Win7 to Win8, same error. Is this the Server it is not talking with?

The Links in the latest version on Forum fail to return a file: "file no longer lives here".
