I like how npvr shows fanart in grid mode for videos in the newest version where if there is only one video file, it has a "play" and "back" button select the folder. I found though that for a video_ts DVD that it reverts back to the old way of doing it and doesn't show the "play" and "back" buttons but instead shows another folder structure.

Is there a way for npvr to see that it's a DVD and show the "play" and "back" button as well?

This would make it perfect and simple.

Do you have you have metadata for these DVDs? if so, are they in the root directory, or in the video_ts directory?

The metadata and fanart are in the root directory.

Do you have a metadata file (xml/nfo) file? These new metadata screens are only designed to show when there is a description of the movie etc. I can make them show for DVDs, but having artwork isn't enough, you'd need metadata as well.

it's got a .nfo file created by thumbgen.

mine all seem to have a movie.nfo in the VIDEO_TS directory, while cover art (folder.jpg) is in the outer directory. this was all done by a program called "My Movies"

Putting non-standard files in the VIDEO_TS folder is considered bad form for creating a DVD structure meant for BUP, IFO and VOB only. Some players will even refuse to playback the files because of this. Even LFN support including lower case can cause hiccups.
