Is there something I need to do to switch to vertical scrolling?

You're definitely talking about icon mode right? ie, the 7x3 grid of icons, not the cover mode which has 5x1 row of horizontally scrolling icons.

The video library doesn't even have a hidden option to stay using the old hidden horizontal mode, so if it's still scrolling horizontally, then it sounds like you're still running the old code.

I expected the Video Library would look similar to what you posted here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post473433

Instead, I'm seeing:

The screenshot you're showing in that screenshot is the Cover view. It scrolls horizontally. If you press the 'home' key, then click 'View', it'll switch to the (vertical) Icon view. An example is shown below. How cool it'll look on your machine depends on whether you have artwork etc.

These are the new screens that get shown if you enter a directory where metadata available. ie, you'd typically navigate around using the Icon/List/Covert view screens (like my screenshot above, and yours), then when you press 'enter' on a directory, if you have metadata files you'll get the new screens. If you don't have metadata files available, then it'll stay showing files in whatever view your were using.

Thank you so much for this. Very helpful! I wonder why so few of my folders contain artwork even though all recordings are from OTA network TV broadcasts. Is there a way to add artwork to existing folders/files?

Also, when accessing the same folders from a networked computer with NPVR 3.2.9, none of the artwork is displayed. Where are the artwork files stored? Perhaps I need to share them across the network?

Thanks for a great product and for being so helpful.

Starting from 3.2.9, when it makes a recording it'll download artwork and metadata if it can find a match. ie, you probably wont have it for shows recorded before upgrading to 3.2.9.

You can tell the app to try downloading metadata/artwork for a show by highlighting the folder in the Video Library (don't enter the folder), then pressing 'Home' (to get the menu) and selecting the "Metadata" button. It'll do a search on TheTVDB to find the show, and give you a list of any matches found, allowing you to select one.

If they were movies you've downloaded, you can use utilities like Ember Media Manager etc to download artwork and metadata.

Okay, that worked. I was able to download artwork and metadata for most of the shows in the library. I had to download separately to the main computer where I do my recording, and to the networked computer which is HDMI connected to the TV. All is working well. Thanks again.
