Live TV - Unable to communicate with recording service

Whenever I try to launch live Tv I get the following error msg:

Unable to communicate with recording service

What can I do to solve this problem.

I'm under Windows 8.1 and using Hauppauge HVR-950Q

It looks like the 'NPVR Recording Service' service isn't running.

So How to run it then ?

If you have no tray icon to right-click, maybe restart PC. Did you maybe install patches without reading Installation Notes?

It's normally running by default, so I'm guessing it's just symptom of some other problem. Did you get any error messages when installing? If not, you can try manually running it in the Windows Services control panel.
