Anyway to stop a phantom live TV session caused by Kodi client crash?

I use Kodi as a client and it crashed wall watching live tv and it left a tuner running on a channnel.
The status option in settings was showing it was in use but I could not find a way to stop it.

I am using a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2255 with just the drivers installed I didn't get the version that came
with thier software.

This is very rare and I had to reboot the server to release the tuner.

If a client died and didn't gracefully release the tuner, it would have been freed up automatically about 20 seconds later.

Back when users posted logs I saw this quite quite a few times.

I suspect part of NRecord probably crashed too, so that's why the recording/live tv session never stopped. As Martin cleverly suggests, logs would show this.
