I can't see any errors in that log ... it just seems to be taking a long time to update the NextPVR database with listings for 682 channels.

It may be that there is something that you could do to reduce the number of channels that you need listings for ... Can you persuade mc2xml to include fewer channels?

Yes, it does seem to still be going.

It's a lot of channels, but I'd still expect it to be quicker than this. What processor is in your machine?

If that's the free version of mc2xml, see the "MC2XML does not work anymore" sticky post. If you open the xmltv file with Notepad, I believe you will find that the listings you have downloaded are from July, which is when the Microsoft legacy data was last updated. When will the Microsoft legacy service for XP MCE and Vista be back? My wager is "never." If it's a choice between paying for "donationware" mc2xml to expropriate the somewhat disappointing new Rovi data and paying Schedules Direct for legitimate Zap2It data, then I would recommend the latter.

Ok, for updating the channels, it finished after around 20 minutes. After it finished updating, I went in the guide and there was all the channels but no information. Like Zeb said, I looked in the xmltv file and I downloaded indeed the version from July.

Thanks for all the help but I think I will just use the guide on my PVR and change channel with my tv remote. I think that will be the simple and more cheaper thing to do. Anyway, thanks for all the help, especially at sub, you gave me.

This thread is a good example of why Schedules Direct is such a bargain here in Northa America once you factor in all the "free" support the other solutions require.

even with comparatively good xmltv data here in the UK, Schedules Direct is a bargain for comprehensive and accurate data that is tightly integrated into NextPVR.

Agree 100%. In addition, I started using Robert Eden's (Schedules Direct) program "XMLTV" during the time of the transition to their current services. This was something I did on my own, based on my reading this and their forum at the time. Prior to that I used MC2XML to retrieve data from Schedules Direct. That is just the first thing that worked for me.

I realize that NPVR now has native Schedules Direct support, which will be convenient and most likely the go-to solution for newer users, but Schedules Direct's XMLTV has been solid as a rock for me, and was catered to their big switch and is maintained by one of their main guys. So that is what I am using at the present. I mainly just use NPVR on a desktop to record old movies, in conjunction with NEWA on a networked laptop to do the scheduling. That much of it is solid as a rock.

Yes. I am finding Schedules Direct to be a really great deal.
